Regulations

Since 1995, machinery makers and suppliers, working in the food and drink industries, have been required to meet certain essential hygene requirements.

These requirements are detailed in a number of standards, including:

EN 1672-2 This standard defines hygiene requirements for food production machinery.

DIN 14159 This standard defines the requirements for the design of machines, in order ensure that food production is hygenic.

DIN 11483 Standard for the cleaning and disinfection of milk-processing plants.
